Readers and Supporters of my BLOG,

As many of you already know, one of the major solutions I have been advocating for through my BLOG is the creation of a Social Prescribing Organization here in Halifax. The purpose of that organization would be to help reduce social isolation by creating more opportunities for people to build healthy social connections, develop friendships, and become more involved in their communities.
If you would like to learn more about my proposal, you can read about its four elements here:

The YWCA Halifax Friend Speed Dating – Intergenerational Connections event is an example of the type of community initiative that complements the goals of Social Prescribing. Its purpose is to bring people together, encourage new friendships across generations, and provide a welcoming opportunity for people to socialize in a safe and supportive environment.
If you are someone who has been experiencing social isolation, is looking to expand your social network, or simply enjoys meeting new people, I encourage you to consider attending this event. Community events like this can be an important step toward building meaningful social connections and improving overall well-being.
