Justin Trudeau Has offcially stepped down, but his Legacy Should never be forgotten by Canadians as Mark Carny takes over
By Kendall Worth!
Readers may remember my post from December 27th,
2024 that explained why it was the wrong time for Justin
Trudeau to step down as prime Minister. People living in poverty have a lot that they
will remember Justin Trudeau for. If you look at that Link, and the various blog posts linked here, where I report on the creation
of the Canada Disability Benefit. The first post where I
reported on this is dated September 19, 2022, and the last time I reported on this is my post
dated July 31, 2024. Of course in my Journalism, my focus has always been on Halifax Nova Scotia. In Halifax, Justin Trudeau, as Prime Minister, will always be remembered for the stands he took on poverty.
Thanks to the work of Justin Trudeau and his former cabinet minsters, the Canada Disability Benefit will soon be coming to life. In invite you to see the following statement from Minster Kamal Khera for proof that this is true. The current update on the
Canada Disability Benefit is that regulations are coming into Force May
15th 2025, and the benefit will be delivered on time. For Nova Scotia this will mean, those who qualify for the benefit will have an extra $200 a month above the Standard House Hold Rate of $1005.00 a month, plus for the ones who Qualify for the $300.00 Nova Scotia Disability Supplement, to top $1305.00 they get.
Also the Disability Community has seen Justin Trudeau do more to stick up for disability rights, than any other Prime Minister. See: https://worthmatters.blogspot.com/search/label/disability%20rights
But there is more Justin Trudeau, moved forward and should be remembered for. It is all about things that Justin Trudeau did for the general population of people living in poverty. He will also be remembered for providing CERB duing times of COVID Lock-Downs and Restriction-- as reported on, in the articles linked here. When these restrictions happened back in 2020/2021 the Income Assitance rates in Nova Scotia were only $850.00 a month. The 2K for people who qualified was getting $2K a month. This was a $1150.00 jump from $850.00. Many who qualified for CERB would never have made it through the days of COVID without it’s existence. Also the Current Carbon Tax rebate helps people living in poverty a-bit as well.
Now it is time to Say Good Bye to Justin Trudeau and hopefully Mark Carny will continue what Justin Trudeau has started regarding Disability Rights, and help the general population of people living in poverty.
Watch for my upcoming open letter to Mark Carney coming soon. In this letter I will be addressing what more needs to be done regarding regarding creating packages to get people out of poverty; and the Disability Benefit.
